On November 27 and 28, 2025, in historic Edinburgh, Scotland, two particularly important mason events of international scope took place, which highlighted the continuity, stability and prestige of the country's mason tradition.
The Grand Assembly and Installation of the new Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Scotland took place on Thursday 27 November 2025. During the splendid and highly symbolic ceremony, Alexander CG Moncrieff was installed as Grand Master, in the presence of a large number of Masons and representatives of brother Grand Lodges from various countries.
The event was particularly honored by the presence of the Grand Master of the National Grand Lodge of Greece, Rev. Rev. Ioannis Benetatos, underlining the strong bonds of friendship, mutual respect and masonic cooperation between the two Grand Lodges.
The following day, Friday 28 November 2025, the Grand Synod of the Supreme Grand Peristyle of the Royal Arch of Scotland was held, in a climate of fraternal harmony and ceremonial grandeur. The proceedings of the Synod highlighted the spiritual character of the Order and confirmed the timeless value of the Royal Arch in the Masonic edifice.
