The Coat of Arms of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Athens is rich in symbolism, presented in two main and distinct parts, left and right.

On the left side, it depicts the three most prominent styles of ancient Greek architecture. The Doric style, symbolizing strength, simplicity, and courage; the Corinthian style, symbolizing perfection, beauty, and artistic expression; and the Ionic style, symbolizing wisdom, refinement, and elegance. These adorn the left part of the emblem on a white background, which in turn symbolizes peace, harmony, and light.

Between them lies only the Square and Compasses, symbols of Freemasonry, with the letter “G” at their center. This represents the Great Architect of the Universe as the focal point, rendered in gold, symbolizing prestige, divine energy, and optimism.

On the right section, there is an owl, an ancient symbol of Athens and our cultural heritage, along with an olive branch, the universal symbol of peace.

The blue background symbolizes stability, spirituality, and freedom. The laurel wreath that adorns the final section is a symbol of victory, honor, and eternity, achievable only through proper preparation and struggle.

Finally, the purple color chosen is a symbol of respect, spirituality, and creativity.

Dear Brethren,

On behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Athens, under the auspices of the National Grand Lodge of Greece, and in my official capacity, I extend my warmest greetings to you.

Our Masonic heritage is invaluable and represents not only a privilege but also a conscientious duty to preserve it, so that we may pass it on intact to future generations.

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Athens, as the custodian of the Constitution of the National Grand Lodge of Greece, works tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation of the 31 Craft Lodges in its jurisdiction and the preservation of Masonic traditions.

The Provincial Grand Secretary plays a central role in ensuring continuous communication with the Secretaries of the Craft Lodges, undertaking the official responsibility of transmitting and receiving all Masonic matters and activities.

The Annual Grand Assembly of the Provincial Grand Lodge is the most significant event, where the review and evaluation of the past year’s work take place, and based on these, the Grand Officers are appointed.

Our primary mission remains the unwavering support of the Grand Master’s work of the National Grand Lodge for the Craft Lodges in the Athens region.

With fraternal regards,
The Provincial Grand Master of Athens
R.W. Bro. Loukas Domestichos
